Over by the lake there are 3 puddles that dry out with interesting cracks and flakes that I like to check out when I'm there. I can't think of any place else I see it though.
That would make sense. Whatever it is the lines aren't laid down like sediment in even layers and they are harder than the lighter stone around them. It's like the harder dark stone was a liquid once that was swirled into the other softer sandstone. Neat stuff.

What a great rock!
I seem to remember that those lines are made of iron or metal ore? Not sure if that's right, it could be lots of things, either way super cool :)
