We met the surgeon yesterday that will be fixing Dave's thumb. Nice young guy. Very tall. His head was only a couple inches away from hitting the door frame. The thumb's tendon needs reattached. All along I've been telling Dave it was the tendon but he insisted it was a cut nerve. The doctor was able to finally convince him where I couldn't. We

Fantastic news about the thumb. At times like this I think the US medical system gets some things right compared to us. I can’t imagine getting to see a specialist and have surgery that quickly.

Maybe we have an overflow of specialists? Though it seems to take a long time here to get an initial appointment with a regular family doctor. When I thought I had the hives it was going to take 3 weeks to see my primary care physician.

You seem to have more family doctors too, or maybe it’s just that only people with insurance or money have them. We aren’t training/recruiting/retaining enough because their pay is relatively low compared to specialists. Millions of people don’t have a family doctor. It’s a major political issue here.

Yes, when the tendon was cut off that thumb was pretty useless.
