Curried butternut and carrot stew is my favorite squash soup recipe... I eat it almost all winter long!

bandanas are great for those days you don't know what to do with your hair. and those days your hair doesn't cooperate.

i'd ask people around you who have tattoos if they have a local tattoo artist they'd recommend. but make sure the person does the tattoos in an actual shop, not in their home. there are people out there claiming to be tattoo artists who don't have the experience or skill to get hired in a real shop so they do it at home and claim they're just as good. they're not. stick with the professionals, especially for your first tattoo.

Yes, definitely stick to the professionals! Next time I see someone with something good I might ask where they got it. That'd help.

another possibility is that in tattoo shops, artists have photo albums of the tattoos they've done. you can page through and see if you like their style, like the way they draw. maybe that's all online now, its been quite a while since my last tattoo.

Thanks. It's definitely a better look than the last haircut I gave myself. ;-)

I love my tattoos, but mainly because i have more than one. I think if i held out for decades to get the perfect one, it would've been less easy to feel satisfied. Because, for sure, i've gotten a couple of tattoos where after they came out i realized the artist wasn't as good as i hoped they were gonna be, maybe they pushed too hard and permanently scarred my skin, or the shapes just didn't look as cool as i intended... but because i have a bunch, i now take the bad with the good. I see them less as meaningful works of art and more like little punctuation marks in the story of my life. I can look at myself and go "oh yeah, i remember where i was when i got this one", and that memory is more valuable than the actual look of the piece itself ( ... )
