I laid the pin loom squares out for Char's lap robe on the bed today - just to make a final check to make sure they were all there and to see if I was to just randomly pick them out of a pile and start to sew them together they wouldn't end up coming out with ones that looked the same side by side. It didn't end up that way on the bed so I'm pretty ( Read more... )

Thanks. I think the beauty of it was mainly in picking nice yarn to start with.

I love how using different warp and weft yarns creates a third color. I should have realized this, since that's how the make bicolor dupioni, but until I saw this it never occurred to me that one could do it at home.

That yarn is great for this as it changes color quickly enough that even in these little squares you can get the effect of a different color for warp and weft.

I can't get over the richness of the colors you're getting by doing your weaving using two different colors of yarn.

The nice thing about using this particular yarn for pin loom weaving is that i don't need to change yarn as i weave to get the 2 color effect. The color changes in the yarn happen pretty quickly.

It did! I just added a piece of cheese on the side to munch on and it was perfect!
