No idea if that is normal cast-wrapping at the fingers, but yes I'd definitely have them fix it for you if possible.
Constriction can cause nerve damage and tissue death. Pain is good because it shows the nerve receptors are still alive, but also that they are in distress and need help.

It's so cool that you've taught others these artistic skills.
As a professional musician, I can't even say I've done that.
