Not to mention what your maple tree is doing to your sewer line and your house foundations.
My friend Shotgun Rider ignored me when I told her that she badly needed to have a diseased oak tree removed. (It was way too close to her house.) Later that year a large branch broke off that tree and fell on her house causing a huge amount of damage.

Oh, that tree is SO BEAUTIFUL...... you can have an arborist trim it so it shades/overhangs the house less....? I would absolutely hate to see it go... it's so perfectly wonderful and alive.
