The question:
5 If you had only one window to look out of for the next six months, what would you want to see out that window? The question implies that I am trapped in the room with just one window. Since it's only for 6 months then I think I'd like to have a city scene with lots of people to look at. I like people watching. At one time I really ( Read more... )

I joked with my daughter that, since they couldn't seem to fix my Subaru, I was gonna put my stimulus check towards a C8 Corvette, lol. Anyway, good luck to Hazel in her search for a car...

Sounds like fun but how would it perform on the snowy roads you have up there? :-)

Hahaha, it wouldn't--although, in recent winters, we haven't seen ANYTHING like the accumulations that we used to...

You know, as I started thinking about this, my mind went back to that flirtation I'd had with the idea of getting a trike, but this time it would be the "fat tire" version that's around now. The reality, though, is that I'll probably pedal through the winter on a stationary bike or get one of those stands with a resistance wheel for my road bike...

I was about to message you today and ask for the name of the app you used to map this walk, but then I went back, found this post, and saw you mentioned it already: the Endomondo App.
I've been trying to use the Google Timeline feature in my phone to track the distance of my daily hiking and I find that it has some anomalies [sharp zigzags] where it periodically struggles with the gps on my phone:

Endomondo does some of those sharp angles too. Maybe cause we move too fast for it to keep up with us or it loses track of us for periods? I hope Endomondo works for you. I especially like it cause it shows me the calories I'm burning. Though that isn't really accurate either. It just racks up calories for the time you have it on, not for the speed you are going so you could stand still and it would give you credit for hiking.

Oh! Thanks for clarifying. My guess is that the phone doesn't check in with a gps position frequently enough, or it struggles to be accurate and plots a point miles away instead. :/

I supposed we'll just have to settle with an estimation vs. perfect mapping of route.
