The question:
23 What was a favorite book you read when you were a child? The first thing that comes to mind was a pop up book that we had with a page that had weird dream monsters (not bad monsters). I loved to open it up to that page especially. I can't remember the rest of the book as well. I think it had scenes of children doing different things ( Read more... )

I'm desperately trying to stick to my work routines but I'm too easily distracted right now. Stay safe and don't worry about the PJs. It's your house after all. Blessings, Ju

Well, for me, if I stay in pajamas I won't even go outside to the yard. Going outside is GOOD. Walking around the yard and being in nature is soul saving. Even standing on the back porch on a rainy day is good! Though I agree - it is my own home and certainly I can dress the way I want in here. But I have too many pajama days as it is!

I hope we can all reach a comfortable place with this new situation. I think it's going to last a while!

I don't remember what I liked to read as a little child, but as I got older my favorites were books by Arthur Ransome. Swallows and Amazons was the first of his that I read - young people on boats (named Swallow and Amazon) on a lake in England. I have it on my Kindle and I have reread it a few times - last time about a month ago. Also anything by Howard Pease - who among other things wrote about Captain Jarvis and First Mate Tod Moran on tramp freighters.

I still have my childhood copy of Alice in Wonderland - actually I think it was my mother's - it says Copyright 1924 - but that is a bit too late for her childhood.

When I was in 4th grade my parents sublet an apartment for a year and in the bookshelves in my room was the 20 volume Book of Knowledge. I decided to read it cover to cover that year and I did.

I'm pretty sure we had the Book of Knowledge books too! When we were going through our parent's things, cleaning out the house, I saved a few of my favorites.

I also loved Alice in Wonderland and had a very old illustrated copy of it. Not sure what year but the cover was falling apart.

Trying to remember the books we had as kids. We had Lassie, Black Beauty, Robin Hood etc. Nana gave me a book of Grimm's Fairy Tales. I remember the Russian Walking House. As well, we had a book on Dinosaurs and one on the ages of the earth, I think. Dad used to read Dr Seuss books to my two youngest sisters at night.

Crochet of knitting is a good thing to stay contented and mindless.

I always get dressed, but sometimes it's in home clothes, which I do not feel comfortable visiting my neighbours in :P

Dave is a good fixer, and who knows, maybe in these times we might need these skills, but I prefer gas and can see why you would want a new Gas stove, too!

Beautiful cover on your book, by the way.

I have my regular clothes and my "go to town clothes" too - :-)

I grew up with a gas stove and have always liked it. When we moved in here that was one of the things we said we wanted to change - that was 20 years ago! Someday...

Thanks. This was one of the books I made a long time ago to sell but then never did. It was easy to re-purpose it.

Haha, and I found Mr and Mrs Cleverhands sometimes are in 'home clothes', too!

I grew up with a wood stove. They are the best...but one must have time and also the energy to lug the wood and clean up after the mess. I had various stoves when in rentals and then a gas stove for 20 years here, then it gave up the ghost :(

Ah, well, it's a beautiful cover and you deserve it. Enjoy :)

Dave found an old wood cook stove years ago and bought it but we never hooked it up. Always thought "someday..." It's still waiting out in the garage. I'm not sure now I would ever want to take the time to work it.
