I think Mozart wrote a composition for several of those which were of different sizes with varying amounts of liquid in them to have a range of chromatic pitches. This arrangement of glasses which could play tunes with that eerie sound was called a Glass Harmonica.

The glass harmonica is a wonderful instrument! Did you happen to read the Wikipedia article where they used to think it was dangerous because it drove its musicians to depression because of its melancholy sounds?

Oh - and this is a bit different from the glass bowls - this bowl is made of brass (or some kind of similar metal) and doesn't need water. Though I think the sound is very much the same.

Is that an owl poking up out of your snow?

I love singing bowls. A great way to meditate!

And yay to get an egg. Spring is coming! Even if you don't get many eggs, it will still be nice having the chooks about the place.

This is my first time to be in the presence of one. Very cool.

I don't expect much in eggs anymore. As you say I just enjoy having them around.
