it's a blessing and a curse

I am very allergic to tick bites. Which is a blessing cause I find them on me very quickly. As soon as they start drilling in, immediately I feel pain. Some people don't (the tick injects a numbing substance) and then the tick can get in there and pass disease to the person. Lyme disease is the worst. So I am happy about that. But it is a curse ( Read more... )

I read somewhere recently that moose colonies in Maine are actually dying out because ticks have become so virulent in the last few years. 😢

Yes, I've read about things like that too. That they find animals who hairless and raw from blood loss. Terrible.

How about food grade diatomaceous earth on your lawn? I use it for flea and roach control using a bulb can duster.... if you haven’t already researched that. I think you can dust your clothes as well. Good luck.

i'm looking into things called "tick tubes" right now. They seem to get good results. And we could make them ourselves and save money.

I tried to accept that ticks are just a part of our lives now but I am getting sick of them. Going to do something about it.

I have the same problem with ticks. One year I went into a field to check out some wildflowers. Unbeknownst to me, I had gotten into a batch of new, tiny ticks. They were all over my legs under my jeans. After picking them all off, I had that tremendous itching issues. I ended up going to my doctor the next day and getting something to stop the itch and some creme to spread on all the 'spots'. There is stuff that you can put on your lawn to get rid of the ticks, in addition to doing some basic steps. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lBOvc9LnK6g

Bah on the ticks. It's tick season here right now, too. I've had to pull two out of Opal's comb on two different nights. That had to have hurt! And Old Flame thought there was another one on her ear, but when I looked at it, there was a scab but no tick. One poor scrub turkey had one for two or three days but it must have dropped off, now, and will be hatching out little ones at some time, I guess. Bah! Old Flame pulled one off him tonight before it latched on. We put them in the Grusome Jar, which is a jar of methylated spirits. I like to wash my bites in methylated spirits, too, to get the germs out before putting the ledum cream on these days. I nevr used to take that step in the old days...until the man up the road came down with lyme disease ( ... )

I never heard of ledum before. I don’t know much about homeopathy medicine. I’m looking into it right now! Anything to stop this stupid itchiness!

I only found out by going to a homeopath. I hope it can help you, too!
