The ISA Brown chickens (like Summer) are quite handsome i think. I call them my golden chickens.

I love seeing self portraits of LJ friends too!

Thank you for your chicken portraits! Summer...our heroine! Is she an ISA brown? They are intelligent and the Rhode Island Red can make them the dominant chook.

Summer is an ISA brown. I didn’t show a picture of Wings this time. She is also an ISA brown. I’d say she is everyone’s leader. Wings seems to function in a lot of ways like a rooster, watching out for the others and herding them in at night.

Ah, ha! Wings is the leader. Maybe Summer is 'second in command'. She must be fairly high up in the pecking order to be able to protect Dot.
