Finally finished a book that I have been reading for (maybe?) months - Oliver Sacks "Musicophilia". He is one of my favorite authors. I already have the next book of his purchased - "On the Move: A Life". Though I have some other books I'd like to read first ( Read more... )

tv shows, daylight savings, johnny, reading, companion necklace, spring, books

We did! It's always a treat when Johnny makes us sushi.

Heard a talk by Oliver Sacks fairly recently, and that would spur me on to read any of his books!

Yay that you can ride after school. Now, hurry up warmer weather!

And yay for Johnny making dinner! That would free your time up quite a bit, along with the days lengthening.

I'm not good at making a list of favorite authors, books, music etc but I would say Oliver Sacks is a definite favorite. I love the way he sees the world.

Yup, spring is coming, even if we can't see it much here yet. The days are getting longer at least.

When Johnny makes sushi it is a party occasion here! :-)

Yes, he has synesthesia, doesn't he? I don't have a list, per se, just keep my eye out for certain authors.

Sushi is yummy. So, enjoy :)

I would start with his book, The Man Who Mistook his Wife for a Hat.

I even sometimes wish I could have some of the conditions he writes about. He makes them sound so interesting. I love his compassion. And he is just so passionate about so many subjects.

I think it was in a book by Sacks that I first read that synesthesia was probably the origin of metaphor.

I adore him.
