bees and other stuff

Today Jan and I walked 4 miles at Lake Wilhelm. The sun even came out. Nice and warm - didn't even need a jacket. Afterwards I drove to Franklin and took the trike on a ride to Oil City and back. On the way back it started to rain but not that bad - it was still warm. I saw 4 other riders on the trail - 2 bikes and 2 trikes. Trikes are becoming ( Read more... )

It was unseasonably warm there? Meanwhile, we saw snow flurries for the first time this season.

I Love the last photo and the way the sky is mirrored along with the trees.

I love your photos, especially the ones of the frozen lake. It looks like mist trapped under glass.

I had a swarm of bees once - they collected in my aga chimney. I phoned a local bee keeper, who told me that they were cold and as a clan, they had decided to congregate in the chimney for a warm up. They would move on, he said and they did. I was fascinated and felt honoured, though I can understand your chickens being unimpressed!

Thanks! I like that look too.

The sound they make (coming from the baby monitors) is creepy to me. Though I don't have a big fear of bees, and never swat them, I am wary of them. They can be unreasonable at times :-). I'll be glad when this is over.

Pretty photos :)

I'm surprised at how many other trike riders there were! Only one other here.

Goodness, I have never heard of bees doing that before!

Thanks.

There are getting to be more and more of them all the time. I'm glad cause I really don't like sticking out and the more common they become the better.

Me neither. I'm glad the beekeeper said not to worry. I'm just looking forward to having them totally gone so things can get back to normal. Probably when it gets properly cold again that will help too.

Yeah, we never got to talk to the other trike rider. He was riding around the sports ground - not on the football field. There is plenty of room there. Better than the road! I always worried about Gyro on the road. Your bike trails are much better.
