I just now received an email letter from futureme.org which I wrote to myself one year ago:

As I read this, my first thought was that I would be afraid to get a letter from my past self. Not sure why, but it is a pretty strong feeling.

Hmm - I see it as similar to rereading my old journals - it shows where I've been and what I was thinking and hoping back then. It's more personal though - directed right at you - kind of a surprise when you get one.
