My mother-in-law crocheted. I have tons of granny square and ripple afghans. The granny square were her favorite and she gifted many in her lifetime. My mom and grandmother were knitters. Alas, I learned how to knit but, never pursued the craft. I need to.

I'm finding it very satisfying to do while we watch TV in the evening. Some of the stuff we watch isn't that interesting to me but I like to sit with Dave and I can keep him company. It's funny how many years I have gone without me doing it and all of a sudden it is coming back full force.

I really need a deck of Tarot. I used to have a set but my foster mother threw them out... that can't be good. :-(

Too bad you lost your set - though they don't cost that much - you can actually print them off online if you have a printer and cardstock. That's how I got my first one.

The Moon from the The Tarot of the Spirit deck is beautiful. I like your melding of the moon and the earth better - it conveys the message across more effectively.

I have been feeling the urge to knit, too, lately but haven't started yet. I usually get the urge to knit in the summer and not the winter. I don't know why! I have never got into crochet, although it is probably easier to do - so I've heard. The main reason for this is because I was making little jackets and things for my babies and the knitting felt softer.

You spun your own wool - cool!

Maybe you like to knit in the summer cause you have long days to fill. I go to bed much later in the summer - 11 or midnight at least but in the winter I go to bed at 9 frequently. There is lots more time to fill in the evenings in the summer.

It's something to do that doesn't take a lot of energy and make me hot, I think! Though even then sometimes it is too hot to do anything other than sit in front of the fan and listen to the radio.

I definitely go to bed later in the summer. It doesn't feel right to cook dinner until the sun is setting. Then I get behind on everything else!

Sometimes, though, the heat makes me tired and I am in bed by 8 pm, and then get up at 4 am and get things down while it is still cool eg water the garden.
