We did take the tent down this afternoon. Gabe helped me. I had a bad coughing spell while we were doing it though. I think the hemlock trees overhead let go of their pollen lately and it was all over the tent - when we were wresting with the tent the dust was stirred up. It took longer to take down than it did to put up - that's for sure. Which is ( Read more... )

These infrareds are really fine. My 3 faves are the first two, and the last one.

Thanks! I start to think boy, these IRs have got to start to be boring for others to see but last night there was some really good light. I was pleased too with how some turned out.

Well, they are getting more interesting and more than simply being an unusual technique. because they provoke the imagination, and are poetic like art the longer and more intuitive your experience in doing them,

I didn't know Hazel was in transition. Good luck to her, it can be a rough road, but it will be worth it in the end.

Thanks. I don't think there will be any going back for Hazel, only going forward. She is much happier now I can see.

It's good to put up, test and take down a camp before doing the 'real thing'. One does not have a lot of energy to put up a tent, so that it good that it is quick to put up when you get there. It's also important to factor in how long it is going to take to 'strike camp' when you leave so that you can time things on the way back. I'm sorry about the coughing fit. Pollen can be really irritating to the nasal and other breathing passages. Did you have some cordial or something to sooth it? Happy camping ( ... )

I just hope that when we unpack the tent tomorrow I don't have another coughing fit! I will need to remember to take some benadryl along.

Some of those creek patterns are rocks and some are mud that has formed and then broken off with sharp edges - that was what I thought was strange about it.

Gabe/Hazel has had a best friend for many years now - Amber - but they were only friends. He has known for a long time that this is what he wants to do but he wanted to wait till he got out of high school to make it easier. I don't think this is a phase :-)

I hope you don't either! Good idea to take the Benadryl along.

That is a strange formation the mud has made.

I didn't realise this about Gabe/Hazel. I think that was a good decision of his to make the change at this time - in transition from high school to...university?

Hazel's plans are to go to cosmetology school in the fall. She loves anything to do with hair and makeup and style.

These are all nice IR pictures, but my favorite is called Sebby's Turn. I love how he is suspended in the spotlight.

I think about Gabe a lot..... Hard to remember to use the name Hazel.

I'm glad you noticed that one of Sebby in the light - that was one of my favorites too.

I'm getting better at using the name Hazel - it will take a while though. I've had nearly 18 years of saying Gabe...
