I found out today that Jill, the woman who helped me at the end of my mother's life, between 2007 and 2012, died this past Sunday. She was only a few days difference in age from me. It's so hard to believe. She did have serious health problems even then and missed time because of that but she was so loving and patient with mom. I was glad to have ( Read more... )

Awww..that's sad about Jill. I remember her.

Yeah, that is distressing to see such big animals cooped up like that.

Eggplant Parmesan...mmm!

What pretty stamps! I wish we had some like that.

Wow, you and Dave are tough, going out in the rain!

Sounds like a good book.

And enjoy Pitch Black!

Quite shocking to think Jill is gone. She is only about 2 or 3 days younger than me. Recently she has been helping other people - her older sister in particular - I wonder how she will get along now without Jill. I'm sure life will be much bleaker and harder without her.

I had no idea how bad the lives of the orca whales were in captivity before watching this documentary.

I'm finding that just having a good rain hat makes a big difference in my willingness to get out there rain or shine.

We did enjoy Pitch Black. Not my usual (I don't usually get into scary movies and suspense) but I liked it.

I bought those same stamps, not because I NEEDED stamps, but just because they are so beautiful. Too beautiful to put on envelopes to pay my bills. Perhaps I will do a spring mailing to friends on some of my flower notecards, a Victorian thing. Correspondence is a dying art, and cursive a dying language.

Exactly! I didn't need stamps either but when I saw they were available I wanted some.
