i lived in detroit at one time.
we moved sometime after my 5th birthday.
my gramma was telling me about how when she was staying with us there
that there was a van full of black men driving up and down our street
(it was a short street)
shooting at the houses
and i didnt know what was going on
and she was trying to get me to play a game with her
where we both had to lay on the floor
and i kept popping up and standing up
and shed freak out.

exactly. i'd say that i'm pretty lucky when it comes to experiencing bad things. i don't mean that to brag that i've got a good life, just that i have it really freakin' good. even then, some people have it worse off than i do and even more have it better off than i do. it annoys me that people who don't drive cars older than three years claim to be from detroit. give me a break.

that makes me crazy, too. i know these stupid girls that are from ann arbor and they all got tattoos of the outline of michigan with a heart where detroit is. they've never lived there and they actually talk about how shitty detroit is on a regular basis. the only time they are even in detroit is to go to shows by really bad bands.
people are ridic.

When your in different states to say Detroit, besides its a mile away from were south warren kids grew up, and I think its pretentious to be pissed off because people love a metropolitan city that generally the rest of the states think is garbage, have pride detroit is a great city fuck it if people want to claim the city which thier burbs are built from, who cares.....next your gonna complain about scene fags, skunk hair, white belts, crust punks, g's, tight pants, beards, who cares in the end as long as people aren't out to screw you over......who cares overgeneralizations are what makes people hate when theres no need, I dont understand why you and the people like you have to point at everything with a judgemental opinion, I claim Detroit I lived in the D though I don't now, it will forever be in my heart its home no matter where I go, and people are generally awesome I walk with all walks of life because peoples hearts matter more then the trends there involved with
