I am reading this on my new iPhone right now and I love it. I use it a lot so I end up charging it every other day or so. It is coming in really handy on this trip. For my money this is the best phone on the market.
Pros: Safari (the web browser) is still the best mobile browser out there, bar none. The interface. Improved GPS capabilities.
Cons: Similar to the 1st gen iPhone - only 2 megapixel camera, no video capture capabilities, poor SMS [multimedia texting]. Personally I also don't like the fact that iPhones/iPods use proprietary interfaces instead of mini-USB connectors, it makes it harder to charge your phone if you don't carry that cable around (mini-USB seems standard enough most people have one).
In terms of battery life, the general rule is that if you use WiFi it'll kill your battery. I'm not sure if Apple managed to improve on this or not though. As with all the "cool" Apple products, you can't replace the battery yourself though, so if your battery happens to go be prepared to lose your phone while it is repaired.
Hey, I'd gladly take an iPhone if you offered it to me, but there's no reason why the new iPhone can't do video. It's got a 8GB storage device built in for cryin' out loud. Even my old RAZR, which probably has less than 1% of that space available for storage, could do video. Nokia's N95 has had an 5MP camera for as long as iPhones have been available, so it's not like high MP imaging isn't available in a phone. And would it kill Apple to not seal their batteries in their devices, so people aren't forced to have to go to them to get a battery changed?
