Well spoken. I agree that polemic media is boring and I think it is more of an "opiate for the masses" than art. It is good ole escapism, in the form of a 2 hour movie or novel. By underscoring that there are more than 2-sides to a situation or a person, truly excellent charicaterization leaves the reader or viewer with no correct answers but a beautiful grey dilemma which mirrors real life. And, that which cannot be rationalized is the most terrifying to us, especially in the form of a human's choices. We have resigned ourselves to living with the fear of accidental death, cosmic events, and the like, but we like to believe that we know and understand the rules that govern human behavior.
