Interesting! I'm trying to write a YA novel as we speak, and while I don't think I'll read this (angst really isn't my thing) I'll keep the details you mentioned in mind. (Although is it just me, or is most YA angst? I guess it's the age... I never read angst, but oh my god the songs I'd listen to.)

I think this is very true: Life as a teenager isn't as easy as we like to think, sometimes. Indeed not... I feel like a lot of people have this Saved By the Bell version of being a teenager. Books like this remind us it isn't so.

I got an advanced readers copy of this book and fell in love with it from the first sentence. I'm glad I'm not the only one :)
