LJ has fixed my forwarding problem, so now links to kerrikins and typing it in to the LJ bar lead to my new name. :D Fantastic.

So at work they are looking for people to work the support desk - not a pay raise, but something different, and I have approval to apply. It's right along the lines of what I'm good at - answering questions,

It's interesting you had forwarding problems too! I changed my name a few days and had to take out a support request to get auto-forwarding to actually work. They also accidentally refunded me my money via tokens alerting me that the name was already taken even though it wasn't, did that happen to you too?

Yup! That's exactly what happened to me - someone I know over on DW who has LJ-support friends says that there is a bug right now. I guess they're probably having to fix every rename that wants the auto-forwarding. I'm just glad that they were able to fix it, I'd had the old name for years.
