ILU-486

I'm sure most of you have heard of this already, but there is an awesome short story making the rounds: ILU-486. It is well written and bleak and powerful and makes you think - it put me near crying, if I'm honest. Maybe because it hits a little bit too close to home when I am thinking about the goings on in the US.

So yes, go and read.

That was awesome and sad and scary all at once - a modern-day Handmaid's Tale. Thank you for reccing it; I hadn't seen any mention until now.

I confess, however, that I don't get the title/final line. ILU-486? I could guess that ILU is part of their mantra, I/we love you, but what's the 486?

Hm, I need to reread, I wasn't sure either. I interpreted it as a license plate, sort of.

I want to read a book based on something like this!!

Thanks for the clarification! You know, I was scratching my head, trying to remember if the pill had the 486 in it, but I couldn't remember. :-P
