He's being WAY too nice - he's doing things that the other side WOULD NOT DO if the tables were turned. The Republicans would have taken huge advantage of the sort of mandate that Obama had, and I know that he doesn't want to alienate people, but in trying not to piss off the people who would never vote for him anyway, he's pissing off the people who did vote for him. Argh. I can't help but wonder just what the people who are advising him are saying, because he's being truly wishy-washy.
Yeah. He's tried too hard to please everyone, but the Republicans will NEVER be pleased by ANYTHING he does, and he doesn't realize that. He should just have pushed his agenda hard; he'd at least have solid support from the liberals that way, and the Republicans would hate him just as much as they do now.
I still cannot hide my disappointment because with them doing all this publicity, with Misha being featured, you'd think that they would at least have used the promotional shot of them standing over the grave which would have been, in my opinion, more suitable to give the show promotion. And as much as the show has been primarily about the boys, it's progressed so much further than it just being about them and Misha is a series regular. They should have at least featured him on there too regardless anyhow.
I'm just wondering why they are drawing this kind of publicity after all this time, when they could have done it when the show had reached its highest in ratings during the fourth season? This season, and half of last season, it's been mediocre at best, and I've not been impressed with it at all. So yeah, this is where I'm torn on the subject.
I'm also right there with you regarding the state of politics right now. :(
Have you looked at the scans over at ontd_spnparty? The cover kind of fits what they say about the show, which is that what drew a lot of fans to SPN is the relationship between the boys. This is totally true for me and it's what the whole article is all about, so that's probably why I don't have a problem with it, though I understand that a lot of people love Misha and are disappointed.
This isn't really publicity that the show is creating, though :P TV Guide just put them in the contest, and the fans are the ones who put them on the cover. I mean, I think that season three would have been a better time for it, absolutely, but it's still nice that it's getting some recognition.
