I was thinking today, and realised that one of the reasons I'm so sad about Nadia is that I feel like she was just coming into her own, was really happy and content. She was such a shy and nervous cat when she was little, hiding a lot - when she was on the floor she would skitter away from you, and not let herself be picked up. Once we moved, ( Read more... )

My BIL/SIL lost a cat to feline leukemia when she was just 4 years old; they'd rescued her as the tiniest kitten from a barn cat; she had pneumonia at the time, and they nursed her back to health. She became their darling, and they were devastated by her death. So I can totally understand why Nadia's loss would be equally crushing to you - she was just getting started, and now she's gone. :(

Heh. We actually like Daredevil, corny though it is; I think some of that is because it was one of the movie options on our flight to get MiniPlu, so we have kind of a sentimental view of it. Also, I had just written DID before Daredevil came out, so I was more interested in stories of blind people.

Bertie lies on his back with his paws like that when he is sleepy and happy too. It is so adorable. We've been patting and snuggling him extra while thinking about Nadia. :(
