Party issues

When you go to a party full of people older than you are, you have an expectation that they will behave in a certain manner. An expectation you wont have to hold someone's head as they vomit from the alcohol poisoning from the way too many drinks. An expectation that you wont need to battle with there friends and prove that said person really is ( Read more... )

You go to some interesting parties. *snark*
But they don't sound like much fun. Guess I am getting old and mean. My first thoughts were "would serve them right on all counts". But these are your friends and I probably have no right to think/say bad things about them.
Hope you survive this. Hugs.

Usually the parties don't spiral too far out of control, but I guess I am an old fart, cuz I never saw the fun in getting people wasted enough they vomit.

But people think my kind of party is boring and un-fun. I'd much rather get together and play board games, and drink a little while eating hor's d'uevres.

That can work for me too.
Maybe, just maybe, sipping on a "wee dram" or A beer.
Or the other type of party where it's "adults only". *nudge-nudge, wink-wink*
:)

Lol, a drink or two are fine. People who can't handle their drinks or other stuff, shouldn't have any.

Adults only party, umm... I can think of a lot that covers that topic :P

YIKES! Reminds me a bit of my con-going days, both in terms of substance abuse and people who should have known better acting like childish enablers.

yeah, being the non drug user of the group they gave me a boat load of shit, cuz they figured I cut him off because I am anti pot. Like the only way I can have fun is harshing their mellow?

So very over stupid drug abusers trying to tell me pot is safe. I have evidence to the contrary, cuz I'm the one sober enough to see it.

Being one who throws many parties and seen things get out of control I understand what you are saying. I am not big on drinking to stupidity. Your party your rules and to hell with them if they cannot behave. Let them throw their own frakking parties if they do not like it.

:) It was thrown by a friend of mine, I just took charge because I am a responsible adult like that. I don't let drunk people fall, especially into lit fire pits. I don't let them drown in the hot tub. I make them sit and sober up, and take care of them when they are sick, and give them lots of water.

It's sad how many adults still act like they are in their early twenties. I expect it from younger adults who are still learning to cope with alcohol, but when your 40? Have some respect for the people who go to the expense and trouble to throw the party. Don't trash their house, and don't worry them with how wasted you can get.

I've yet to go to one of your parties, cuz you are way on the other side of the bay. But I have heard good things.
