I don't trust that "on the set insider" that post on DTTW... Remember it's the Internet and everybody can say anything! ;) I'll believe it when we get it from an official source..
Also, well... I think they will try to erase our memories with what happened with Lana! LMAO But, I agree, why are they doing that without having Clark's character being assasinated? No idea!
I had to look. Eventhough you said you were wincing, I had to look. (I'm such a spoiler whore) That is really upsetting. I knew it would happen. Hopefully, Clois fans won't accept it. What kind of heartless punk could be on his knees, overwhelmed with sadness at the loss of his longtime love one minute, and then be drooling over someone else the next? Hopefully, if it does happen that way, it will have been a long time. If not, I don't think he's worthy of Lois at all, and I don't even ship them!
As much of a trainwreck this season has been, I really hope there is one more. I am a glutton for punishment, I know. I just don't feel this season has tied up the loose ends it needs to in order for me to be satisfied with the show ending. I really hate PS3. Hopefully PS1 will do it better next year.
In a way, I would like another season too. I think that's partly due to the fact that the way this season seems to be wrapping up, it isn't tying things up and leading Clark to really becoming Superman and being with Lois (whoever she may be). I put that last little part in there just for you. ;-)
The insider on DTTW has been very trustworthy, but I wouldn't be surprised if she wasn't mistaken about this. I always doubted that Tom's contract status would be solved so early, and be such common knowledge.

Reruns and hiatus is always frustrating.
And I wouldn't be at all surprised if they just tried to pretend the Lana arc didn't happen, and just picked right up with Clois. The Lana arc didn't respect Lois or Clois at all, and the stuff picking up with Lois won't respect Lana or Clana at all. And NONE of it respects Clark, but so what else is old? Do they ever care about Clark more then their precious 'ship's, or pandering? Nope.
I guess we have no idea of what's really going on with Tom and his contract and probably won't until the "official" announcement. Ausiello has been wrong before, but more often than not, I think he's right.
I really feel like we lose no matter what happens with the rest of this season. If Clark forgets about Lana and starts flirting with Lois, he sucks. If Clark continues to mourn Lana and nothing ever happens with Lois, that kind of sucks. I think you and I both know that the chances of Clark discussing his feelings about what happened with Lana are slim to none. If anything, a short scene with Chloe might happen like what we got at the beginning of Power (which was completely negated by the end of the episode anyway).
Sometimes it's really hard being a true-blue fan...
The back half hasn't sounded kind to anyone so far. I completely agree. I really think that PS3 got together and said, "we're not pissing enough people off. How can we anger every single fan of this show in one way or another?"
IMO, they've screwed over the Clark fans, the Lex fans, the Chloe fans, the Lois fans, the Lana fans, the Clana fans, the Clois fans, etc...

I really don't understand what's going on with SV and how the rest of the season is going to make any sense at all. Stupid PS3!
