I haven't seen the episode yet, and probably won't for a while, so I'm just here to say hi! You haven't been around much lately! I've missed you. *hugs tight*
I hope you get to see Crossfire soon because hopefully you will like at least some part of it. I haven't read anything where someone says that they've hated the WHOLE episode so that's a good sign, right? :-)
I'm sorry that I've been distant in LJ Land lately. I can't believe it was 2 weeks between my posts! It used to be that I could barely go 2 HOURS without posting another entry!
My new job is kicking my butt a little bit. I'm not even working full-time, but I'm so exhausted that it takes me about 2 days to recover from 1 day of working. I'll leave my complaining at that for now.
I hope you're doing well and that you're enjoying your job a lot more than I'm enjoying mine!
Oh, at the rate I'm going, I'll probably love anything SV throws my way. I'm becoming way too easy. ;)
I'm sorry that work's hard, but at least it's better than not having any, right? I'm sure you're managing fine, and taking a break once in a while from LJ is actually not so bad if it helps you get back on track.
I'm enjoying my work a lot, and I really think this is what I was always meant to do. I hope you find something to love about your job too! *hugs*
Thanks for the link! I saw it just now, and despite not having any sentimental attachment to the Anthem, I got goosebumps. Amber Riley is fantastic. <3
Money-wise, this job is better than no job, but other than that, I'm not really sure. I guess I just have to keep reminding myself that this part of my life is just a stepping stone to the next chapter. Now, I just need to figure out what that next chapter is!
I enjoyed the Anthem, but I wish that it had been more of an ensemble thing instead of just focusing on one singer in particular. I guess that's kind of how the National Anthem was designed though. :-)
but there's just something inside me that won't let me hate Ollie or Justin.
Pssst! Just between us, but I, too, am an Ollie Lover! Say no wrong of him!
Is it just me, or was the Ollie/Mia thing supposed to be a nod to the Richard Gere and Julia Roberts characters from Pretty Woman? Or maybe it was SO obvious that no one bothered to mention it? Mia's wig and boots and the fact that she drove the car, especially stood out to me...
Good catch. I thought that it looked familiar, but that was not one of my favorite movies so it floated by me. I guess that Mia will "save herself", then. :-)
Psst! I am a Tess Lover too. And Zod is OK by me. Hey, I LIKE season 9. I was traumatized by season 8 (particularly the last half) and season 9 is keeping me off my anxiety pills. :-)
It sounds like the new job is physically demanding. Did you buy some good shoes? Or get some of those Dr. Scholl's cushions for your old ones.
I'm glad it's not just me that can't resist Oliver's charm. :-)
Even after watching Pandora, I'm still not all that invested in Zod. I don't don't like it when he tortures our Clark though!
I never did get new shoes, but I bought some insert thingies for them. Unfortunately, when I put them in my shoes, they make my sneakers not fit right. :-( I'm not really sure what do from there. I am a very picky shoe wearer.
I thought of "Pretty Woman" too when I saw the Oliver/Mia scenes but I wish I had found them half as entertaining as the movie itself! Those scenes bored me to death. I wasn't thrilled by the Tess/Zod scenes either, but at least that storyline has to do with Clark and I found the over-the-top acting kind of funny.
In the case of Mia, I'm tired of yet another DCU character being brought into the show to serve a secondary character, particularly when this might be SV's last season. I don't think they should waste that much valuable screen time.
It's great to have you posting on LJ again! I'm always thrilled to read your tweets but we need you here too!
//And when Clark made the comment about being more of a "behind the scenes kind of guy," I couldn't help thinking that that line was a nod to Real!Tom.//
Are the SV writers that clever though---? ;-) Heh, no but good catch. And it would definitely seem like an appropriate nod to our guy.
//I know that a lot of my flist hates Oliver (and sort of hates Justin by extension)//
I'm in a very bad place with Oliver' character right now but I don't hate JH. In fact, far from it. If anything I think he's done a really good job on the acting front this season.
I think Stuart is meant to be tad younger than Chloe. Is it really going to go the romantic route though? Hope not. Certainly not at the moment anyway.
We do disagree on certain aspects of the ep, but I will say that this was by no means whatsoever the worst of the season. The good parts had enough quality to make me want to rewatch too, in fact.
Stuart is supposed to be 20, which puts him about 2-3 years younger than Chloe. Which I don't think is all that bad, since Lois is a couple of years older than Clark, too.

Random: Have you seen the cast of Glee singing the U.S. National Anthem? http://watching-tv.ew.com/2009/10/31/glee-national-anthem-world-series/
