Day 3 of My Trip

Jun 03, 2009 21:41

Hello again! Tonight I'm in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. Lucy and I are doing well. I'm sure Lucy is bored riding in the backseat all day long. but she hasn't complained.

It was raining on and off again all day today. I think the rain is following me!

The highlight of the day was seeing the giant Superman statue in Metropolis, IL! I got all giddy and ( Read more... )

Lucy looks so cute with Superman standing over her protecting her. She's a good dog to sit there in the rain and let you take a picture.

Don't worry about the picspam meme. I'm habitually behind on it and I don't have any excuse.

I was very surprised that she "stayed" while I moved away and took a picture. I fully expected her to follow me. I realized afterwards that the fact that she was up on a platform and needed help getting down might have had something to do with her not running away. :-)

I think Lucy is used to putting up with a lot of crap from me. She's such a good doggie!

Lucy looks very unimpressed with Supes - that's a very cute picture!

When Michael visited for a convention, he ran over took a phone-pic of himself with Supes. ANd of course, fans excitedly photographed him!

Superman looks all shiny and new in this picture! Michael is adorable, of course! When I saw Supes, it looked like he could use a paint job. The area was very empty and dreary-looking because of the rain. I wonder if they're going to spiffy him up before the Superman Festival next week? At least I think it's next week...

I love the pictures! And we now all have the URL for the Superman store. :)

Hurray for being so close to the end of the drive! I can just imagine how sore you are though - I always find my neck especially gets stiff because the car seats seem specially designed to provide no support at the necessary points. And then there's the legs getting cramped, especially if you have no cruise control. I don't know how long haul truckers do it.

When I was looking at the pictures, I realized that the web address was plastered everywhere! :-)

At this point, there's pretty much no comfortable position in the car. I just need to drive and get it over with. I have cruise control but I haven't used it too much because I'm afraid if I do, I won't pay as much attention to my driving.

Those pics are lovely! I love the one of Lucy with Superman. I'm a rain lover so I find pics taken in rainy weather even more appealing. I'm sorry you got soaked though.

Don't worry about not being able to catch up with the Clark meme. I'm a bit behind too but, as you said, it's about the fun not the obligation. I wish I had your same excuse because, in spite of how tiring it must be, I really wish I could go on that kind of journey and visit all those places. Travelling through the USA is a long time wish I hope I might be able to fulfil one day.

Thanks for the updates! I hope you and Lucy have all the possible fun!

I'm glad you like the pictures! I wouldn't have minded being in the rain if I was going right back into my house where I could change into comfy, dry clothes, but to have to get back in the car and drive for a bunch more hours was slightly annoying.

I wish I could have done more sight-seeing. I'm glad I took the time to see Metropolis though.

Yay! Almost home! It's only a 6.5 hour drive from Chattanooga, but I don't know where you are in relation to Chattanooga, so I don't know how much further you actually have.

Lucy is so cute sitting by Supes. She's a good girl to sit there and take a picture for mommy.

Alone? I thought you had a riding buddy?

Someone's been slacking on reading my lj! :-) A week or so ago, I posted an entry saying that Andrew (my driving partner) had changed his mind. He thought the trip was going to be more annoying than fun because of Lucy so he took back his offer. I'm not mad at him persay, but I haven't talked to him since then either...

Lucy has been such a good girl for this whole trip! I was pleasantly surprised that she stayed still for a picture with Big Blue! :-)

I'm sorry! I have been falling behind in the LJ lately. Plus, I'm a member of a few communities, and those posts take up a lot of space and I sometimes don't get through them all. If I had the money, I'd have flown out there to drive you back. Yes, I would drive because I can't stand to sit, but I love road trippin'.

Did he even apologize? You don't have to be mad, I'm mad for you. :)

Andrew felt like the trip was just going to be annoying and that we'd end up fighting because I wanted to do things a certain way because of Lucy and he didn't understand why. He said that he thought it would be better for our friendship if he didn't come on the trip...

That's very sweet of you to offer to accompany me! I know it's asking a lot of a person, so I'm trying to be understanding about Andrew. I was hoping that he would have at least called or emailed me to check on me, but that hasn't happened. :-( Oh well.

I thought I was going to make it home tonight, but I've stopped for the night in Valdosta. Gainesville, definitely tomorrow!
