Day 1 of My Trip

I survived! There's some annoying b.s. with the movers to be sorted out, but hopefully it won't end up being a big deal. I didn't leave my apartment until after 5pm and then, of course, I was stuck in rush hour traffic. After that it started raining pretty hard. Congratulations! I'm glad you're off, even if your first day was kinda miserable. I always love driving and enjoying the scenery, though if Kansas is anything like Saskatchewan to the North it gets pretty monotonous. When my sister and I drive across Canada, on the way back we usually get from either Calgary or Medicine Hat, Alberta to Winnipeg, Manitoba in one day - which would be about the same as Goodland to Saint Louis. I don't think you can get that far with a dog and no co-pilot, but you never know!

Ah, my association with Goodland KS involves a former job and having to estimate gas usage on irrigation equipment on the farm taps. I'm so glad I no longer have that stress!

Best of luck driving tomorrow. The drove on the 70 (I think it's the 70 will be a long one, but do-able.

Kansas City's a really cool town. You might find out the hard way that the roads in MO are not up to par with the KS side.

Thanks for the pictures.

There doesn't appear to be much to Goodland (or to Kansas in general). Thanks for the good wishes! I-70 wasn't too bad. I think the roads were the worst in Illinois.
