I have no idea if this is considered a spoiler or not. I guess if you haven't seen Doomsday yet, it's a spoiler.

I was pleasantly surprised to see a tid-bit about Smallville in the Ask Matt column on TVGuide.com:

I never had any doubt that she'd be back, and back soon! Thats the way SV rolls when it comes to their cliffhangers. And while I'm glad she'll be back, it does make one wonder what the point is if she's just POOF! and back in 9x01. Than again, I couldn't figure out why the Legion didn't return her right away.

I guess I hadn't really thought about how quickly they would bring Lois back. When I read Matt's column, I got scared for a second that they would keep her away for the first third of the season- especially if Erica's not contracted for all of the episodes. It would almost make more sense that way.

I guess instead, they'll have Lois randomly drop off the Planet (no pun intended), for no apparent reason, in the middle of the season.
