Browsers are, really, not a very good platform for building Web applications. I take 'Web application' in a much broader sense here; any interactive Web site, really, is somewhat vulnerable to the same problems.

Strangely, this argument has already been had and won in the Mobile space. When Apple tried to tell everyone to just write webapps for the iPhone, developers revolted and demanded access to the same tools Apple used to make the built in software ( ... )
