down in one: So, I was hanging out with these college rugby players one evening, , and there was this drinking contest where they'd all had someone a tall cup of beer and have him/her chug whilstform a circle around the drinker, and to the tune of a parade march, gleefully sing "down in one, down in one, down on-n-n-n-ne..." and then on the next gulp "down in two, down in two, down in two..." and so on.

I swigged it all in one gulp, so I never got farther than "down in one".

drinking songs: Ever since finding out that the tune of our national anthem was cribbed from the tune to a drinking song, I've been fascinated by drinking songs, my favorite two being a dirty one to the tune of "My Bonnie Lies Over The Ocean", and another song titled "Beer, Beer, Beer".
