For those of you still enjoying picture books, C's new favorite is Skippy Jon Jones by Judy Schachner. It's the story of a Siamese cat who likes to imagine that he's a Chihuahua. There are several in the series now, but the pictures are hilarious, the stories amusing and the opportunities to "do" voices are extensive.

I wish this was a made-up name: Uraina Rivers-Brown.

One of the up sides to working on "Mission Statements" for several companies is that I've been able to slide "or sexual orientation" into their non-descrimination policies.

The librarian at the school I read at showed me a class roster that blew my mind today.

The mother had read a pretty word someplace and named her daughter Chlamydia. (She spelled it correctly, too.)

Why is it that so many technology vendors think that it's okay to walk up and down a hall talking loudly on their cell phones? This guy has been trying to sell a system to *another* school while distracting me from my work for the last 40 minutes.
