Really, I should be asleep.

Instead, I've been re-reading old entries from my full-time parenting days. A lot of feelings there, both happy and sad. It's certainly an understatement, but the only words I have are: I wish it had gone differently.

sleep deprivation cha-cha, ancient history, kids

I'm fairly certain there's not a parent/pseudo-parent that hasn't thought that at some point. The problem with life is that there's no Ctrl-Z.

Here's a song for you.

Aw hell... I totally misread that in my own sleep-deprived and slightly tipsy state. But yes, yes that does really suck. *hugs*

It makes me SEETHE with rage when I think of your situation. SEETHE. (Hey, that's a fun word to say... try it. SEETHE! SEETHE!) I wish things had gone different too.

The really important thing is that you wanted them and loved having them with you. I know stepparents who would really rather not have their spouse's kids around, and I think that's troubling (although sometimes understandable, I know). Those kids were wanted and that matters.
