well, since the british had this big thing for flabby pugalists as the ideal of masculinity until eugene sandow changed the standard for male beauty (http://www.eugensandow.com/), i believe it means he has half of his balls blue for boxers.

heh, it's an award for sport, only at use at oxford and cambridge i believe, you can either get half or full blues. my school had colours, you either got half colours or full colours in a sport, which you earned by being on a winning school team for however many matches (i wasn't ever on a team so i'm a bit hazy on this)

I wonder if where the tradition of Varsity lettering in a sport got it's start? Does anyone still get Varsity sport letters any more, I wonder.

Based on the wikipedia page - Half Blue for Boxing means that the character is probably the regional, but not national, champion for boxing in the collegiate.

In other words, he's good with his fists.
