I haven't really celebrated holidays in any proper fashion in years, so it'll most likely be something low-key like visiting with friends.

Yeah, it's not like I have an elaborate habit myself - I was just wondering.

Yule proper? I have no idea; probably a solo ritual. I really haven't done much with anyone else since I bolted the hell away from the local Pagan community's witch wars some years back. I got a request a couple of years after that to please return to the fold; "we need elders who can mediate." I smiled and reminded the young lady doing the asking that, since one of my favored deities is the Morrigu, my way of handling disputes might be just a wee bit too draconian for the rather large "the-Universe-is-a-friendly-place-my-child" contingent. Something about swords and hoodie crows just makes the poor dears nervous, I suspect.

For Christmas, some friends of ours are having their annual get-together. I'm going to see about providing a Bûche de Noël (homemade if I have enough spoons, pre-made otherwise), and an actual Yule Log for the fireplace.

Yeah Yule proper - I'm so less concerned with Christmas... ;-)

I'm so not a part of the local pagan community (despite a couple of people's efforts to get me more involved - though more nationally than locally) that it's kinda odd to celebrate as much as I do. This year is marking kind of a watershed, so I'm in the process of re-figuring things out.

I understand that one. This year has had me swinging more back toward the "pagan" part of my self-described Pagnotheism. :-) Having my very own yard and garden has brought my Inner Conjure Wife roaring back to the fore. That being said, pretty sparkling lights turn me into a six-year-old in nothing flat, so we have a Yule-mas tree in the living room, bedecked with holly, ivy, and mistletoe.

As far as not being part of a Community ...I so don't miss it. I get to HPS my way, thankyouverymuch, and I don't have to dumb things down for the fluffy bunnies. There's a reason that one of my favorite quotes from Buffy, the Vampire Slayer is Willow, ragging on her college Wicca group: "All talk. Blah, blah, Gaia. Blah, blah, moon. Menstrual life-force power thingy... Bunch of wannablessedbes. You know, nowadays, every girl with a henna tattoo and a spice rack thinks she's a sister to the dark ones."

Yeah Yule proper - I'm so less concerned with Christmas... ;-)True, that ...but cheesecake is always appropriate, no matter the season. * ( ... )

After my Ex? I so do not miss the Community - despite the fact that I really do need to participating in some form of it.
