I went out yesterday morning and shoveled off the driveway, but didn't wipe off the car... bad move. This morning the snow looked deceptively high. Good news: Got the snowblower out and running (first time this season). Bad news: I ran it over only about two inches of styrofoam flakes, it seemed. So the driveway wasn't serious, but the car... that's another story. I'd never seen so much ice on a car before... a layer of snow under a layer of hard ice, topped with the blowy snow. Once I was able to get the driver door open, I started the car up and stood out there with it, gently using the brush to lightly pound the ice away, for about an hour. By the time I'd had enough, the windshields were clear but the ice on the door windows just laughed my ice scraper off. I'm selfishly glad it was Wendy's car and not mine; hers is now uniced enough that I can move it onto the street so I can take my car over to the U :-)
