If you can get me crash space (a sofa would be fine), I'd be more than happy to come up and help with the physical work of sorting or whatnot... I really need to meet you anyway, Nancy, so let me know!
Oh there will come a day (or two or three!) when I'll put out the call for help with reorganizing, cleaning, sorting, and maybe even inventorying the store.
And having crash space is easy here -- lots of room. So long as you're okay with cats checking you out. :)
I don't have a timeline yet, as I still need to get some things in writing and some things more nailed down businss plan wise before I can make a real move on this. Without an inventory of th contents, it's making it hard, but I'm not going to spend the money to have it done -- she should have -something- in hand to at least prove worth of the store's contents in order to sell. I don't think I'm crazy to demand that, yes? :)
Hope this comes through for you. The lack of inventory may be a point in your favor, in terms of keeping other buyers away. Anyone sane is going to insist on some sort of inventory, and the lack of one may make people from outside the area very dubious of the viability of the business.
Actually you could find out what standard of inventory would be required by a bank etc, then offer to accept a less detailed inventory, saving her a lot of work. (Or, doing some of the inventory work yourself.)
I will happily do whatever I can to help from PA. I've been doing the publications for Lunacon for the last several years, so making bookmarks and/or postcards would be an easy thing for me. I'm not really a logo designer-type, layout is much more my thing. I can even recommend a couple of good (and relatively cheap) printers.
Yes, the knick-knacks and stuff need to go!
And no, you are not insane for demanding some sort of inventory to prove the worth of the store and your investment.
