Looking for recommendations on Edinburgh glaziers

Aug 25, 2014 19:09

Hello!

My other half and I are looking to get our living room window replaced before winter hits. If anyone could recommend a good, reliable glazier in Edinburgh, we'd be most grateful! Thank you :)

We got all our windows done in Abbeyhill in 2010 and can highly recommend Lochinvar. We got a few.quotes: Everest were very sales-pushy and the guy just kept saying 'we're not the cheapest' (they certainly weren't - from memory, about twice the price of lochinvar) but without really giving a reason as to.why - just that they were better. We had another quote from a company - I forget who - who were a mite cheaper than Lochinvar but we didn't hugely trust them when they came over - can't remember exactly why but I think seemed like there might be hidden charges, no guarantee etc.

Lochinvar guarantee for ten years, and although we moved out a couple of years ago,by coincidence the guy who bought it off us popped up on a friend's Facebook thread about the same topic (tiny Edinburgh!) and they're still going strong.

I'm rambling now but basically Lochinvar were really reasonable and really friendly and were in and out within a morning, leaving the place spotless.

Good luck with it.

Thank you ever so much! We'll give Lochinvar a prod for a quote, and avoid Everest.

Knowing where to start - and with whom - when getting windows done is a bit of a headache, so this is really helpful. Thanks :)
