Alba are the worst letting agents in the world.

That is all.

Seconded.

I once tried to view a flat that ELS were letting, and they did not make a good impression (the guy was late, sleazy, and didn't even have the right keys).

I second ELS, we're letting through them at the moment and they're absolutely hopeless. I wouldn't even know where to start telling you the problems we've had with them.

Sorry you are having problems, but thanks for sharing the info so I can stay clear of them. :)

Stay away from EPM. Useless, charge £175 'admin fees', don't check references and are incredibly unhelpful.

In fact, i'd stay away from agencies in general if you can. Look on http://edinburgh.gumtree.com for private lets.

My own personal opinion is to steer clear of any letting agency. If you must though I'm sure there are comprehensive posts and guides in the memories section...saves the usual mega letting agency horror story threads.

Thanks for your input. :)

I did look through the memories section, but it wasn't very helpful I'm afraid as the tagged entries section wasn't very comprehensive for this type of stuff, IMO. :/

To that end, don't suppose you could tag this entry, could you? ;) It'll help the next person out....

A while ago I let a flat from Ryden lettings, and they were ok.

Im in a Ryden flat and just had the bathroom totally retiled when it went all wrong. They did all the sorting out and all I had to do was make the guy a cuppa. Also when I first moved in oven was only sort of working. So I had a new one 2 days later. So they seem to keep on top of repairs ok.

Probably find loads of stuff about this in the Memories section because it comes up all the time.

For my tuppence worth: I'm three months into my second lease with A Flat In Town and haven't had a single thing to complain about.

I did check the memories section, but didn't find it that helpful as I think many of these posts haven't been tagged. :/

Thanks for the info. I'll have a look at their website and see what they've got going atm. :)
