Here I am in London with Amber1960 and DizzoJay having a SPN day - writing fanfic and being persuaded to set up a LJ account. First post - gulp. Now gotta work out how the rest of LJ works.

You mean you haven't? Ha ha I've on;y been on here for a year or so and I still haven't much clue how to format posts and stuff. I notice you haven't joined many communities - have a look on mine and Dizzojay's profiles and see if any of the communities we are members of grabs your fancy - that is how you start finding the good fic writers, artworks, discussions etc. You can either join community pages (if you think you are going to contribute) or just watch if you want to lurk and read and maybe add a review now and then.

*waves back*
Thanks for the advice (although I'm not sure I get the difference between joining and watching), I do get frustrated by LJ, I seem to go round in circles and it all seems to be overly complicated for an occasional user. Prob'ly just me.
But maybe now I've actually got some friends on here it'll encourage me to come back and It'll be worth the effort to figure it out.
Or maybe I've just turned into my father, in which case I'll just get my slippers and fall asleep watching Top Gear....

Ha ha you could use that image as a profile icon...an imp with pipe and slippers! I was frustrated here too at first, then I started finding some of the talented writers that live here and now I am here much more than on FF.net which I find has much more dross to wade through. Also here there are people to talk to about meta stuff which fascinates me...you can't really do that so much on FF.net or Supernaturalville. I am no expert but I think the only difference between watching and joining is the ability to post an entry to the community. You can still comment on other people's posts if you are watching.
