You should get your name on the list of people that was suspended. Someone's compiling on wiht a list of why--and whether it was rightful or wrongful.

Of course people are defending LJ for their actions. No matter what the issue is some knuckleheads will not see eye-to-eye with the majority.

They're all like, "Oh they were just doing their jobs, that clause in the ToS that says they will listen to appeals is just for show, don't be mad at the poor LJ employees, they're just trying to cover their asses." I have to be mad at somebody and direct my complaints to the proper people, and if that makes it sound like I'm yelling at the poor volunteers, so be it. Someone should listen to me. This is just stupid and extreme and totally unnecessary. At the very least I can warn everyone else and for instance you with your years of LJ archives won't lose your whole journal due to one word offending someone. But it still sucks that someone losing all their posts is what it takes to inform everyone because LJ is too lazy to grow some balls and give us a heads up about the danger of having certain words in our profiles.

Yeah, and if you're going to be suspended for just having an interest listed, they need to say so. I had the interest "rape" and also belonged to a community called "nakedboyparts." Now "nakedboyparts" is a community where fangirls can post naked pictures of male celebrities. It's ben unused for a year and there are very few posts, but those there ARE consist of grown men who are naked, and I meant to delete the community since no one ever posts there anymore, but I'm lazy so I never got around to it. Whoops. LJ should see this if they investigate and realize it's not a pedophile community. I realize it may look bad on the surface, but give me at least a CHANCE to do something about it.

What bothers me most is that, even knowing why people are in a tizzy, even after being explained it several times...someone I admire and looked up to and thought was a great friend is still defending not on LJ (which, honestly, I want to believe is just misunderstood here), but the crazies at WfI.

I think it's time for a friends cut soon. Provided I don't just up and leave.

I have a lot of people defending the WfI people, too. I don't totally get it, but I know people are rabid about stopping sexual predators...but the thing is, so am I. Very much so, more than people know. But this isn't the way to stop them. And I HATE being labelled as sme kind of dangerous person simply because of an interest in my profile. The snide and condescending holier-than-thou attitude of WfI makes THEM dangerous in my book, not me. The whole situation is insane.
