We few, we happy few, we band of buggered: Lantern Plot Info Post!

Hey, listen up, Edensphere! Tonight, that is, March 31st, there will be a peculiar (and quite spectacular) light show above the City Without Walls. Kagerou and a dedicated helper crew have been working for a month to make a considerable number of sky lanterns in at least relative secret. (They have been stored at least in the upper rooms of the Bar, in the Little House in Section Three, and if anyone wants to add other hiding places you're welcome to do so.)
And tonight, after dark, a bunch of fearless memorial guerrillas will sneak into the Park, light and release the motley array of lanterns in all colours, and then exit the premises in good order and with great haste. Why the hurry?
Because each and every lantern has been painted, embroidered or magic marker'ed with the name of a past resident, whether they vanished years ago or have been only gone a short while. (The names were partly provided by Gai from the Library, partly by Smoke from memory, and other individual people.) The lanterns will float up in a cluster of lights and be carried off into the branches off the Tree, go into teleport loops on the second level, or perhaps vanish beyond the Sphere's Glass. Who knows?
Now as we all know, the Trees That Be do not look kindly upon remembering the lost. An hour or so after the lanterns have gone up, ash will fall from the sky for an hour. Anyone taking part in the making or release of the lanterns will be subject to a punishment that last for one day and consists of them finding, intermittently, one of the three things in their mouths:
1. Ash pearls
2. Coin currency from their own individual canons
3. Funerary scrolls from their individual canons
Kagerou's band of merry rebels is below, but I am putting up a log that is open to anyone. You're free to observe the lanterns or the ash falling, or bump into someone as they're fleeing the scene, or whatever you can come up with. Feel free to spin off from the basic idea. :)

If you still want in on this plot, there is time. The lantern-making was handwaved because, well, handicrafts. People who join the actual planning/releasing will need someone trustworthy to vouch for them, because these are pretty explicit anti-Tree shenanigans, and Kagerou's more careful than that.
It is also appreciated that the people who release the lanterns can be quick and stealthy, but anyone who wants to release a certain lantern will of course be let do so. It's Personal, it's Personal. Kagerou wouldn't deny anyone that.
