It's here! The aniversary Pick Your Own Event Redux!

Feb 20, 2010 17:27

Happy Almost Birthday Edensphere!! On February 29, 2008 the spooky jam jar was first opened--of course it was during a leap year! To help celebrate TWO YEARS of memory wiping, tree shanking, octopus giggling, elevator stalling, RPM-San chittering action, moderation is pleased to bring back the PICK YOUR OWN EVENT REDUX!! YAY!!!!

On Feb 26-28, players are allowed to choose any one of the past Edensphere events from the past two years to affect his/her character(s). It's not limited to events that only the character was around for, so it's an opportunity to take advantage of events that you might have missed.

Here are the events!

2008

April
- Super Steak Special (modified) - Everywhere that your character walks, there's steak growing on the tree~ Whether rare or well done, characters will find that meaty treat growing just the way they like it, if they like it at all, that is.
- Nature "Appreciation" - Flowers are growing in your character's hair, and no matter how many times you cut them out or otherwise remove them, they seem to grow back--twice as man and twice as hard to yank out.

May
- Age Switch - Your character suddenly isn't the age s/he normally would be -could be older or younger, infantile to aged- but his/her mentality and mindset are perfectly intact.
- Sunglasses & Goggles - These are totally the cool and in thing--your character wakes up with a pair of sunglasses or goggles, and there's no way to get them off.
- Laser Tag - Your character wakes up decked out in laser tag gear, with the plastic infared laser guns strapped to his/her sides. Find and shoot your opponents, and you'll be rewarded with money piling up in your home.
- Message in a Bottle - There are flying bottles, each with a little message or item. Each time someone shoots down a bottle, s/he could earn logs of money and find lost trinkets and treasures from his/her own canon/fandom.

June
- Treasure Hunt - Your character finds a strange map, and it's time to hunt for some treasure. How about a trip to The Wilderness to see what mysteries your character might solve?

July
- Wishes on Paper - A small sheet of paper has appeared in your character's journal. The instructions beside it simply say "Make a wish..." Who knows? Maybe your wish might come true. Anything that a character wishes for will only remain for five days. And be careful what you wish for...
- Zero Gravity - Your character finds him/herself either completely unaffected by gravity... or in this lovely space suit. The zero gravity event only allows characters to have one or the other.

August
- Raining Water Balloons (modified) - Your very lucky character is being followed by a localized rain cloud pelting water balloons on his/her head.
- Bumper Cars - Every time your character leaves his/her home, s/he is suddenly crammed into a little motor vehicle of the player's choice. (Namely, cars/trucks/vans--RVs other than monster trucks are NOT included.) Want to have a spar? Brace yourselves for a demolition derby!

September
- Space Invaders (modified) - Inclusive of strange blipping sound effects and pixel line attacks that cause strange stinging sensations if your character gets hit! Localized single-player space invaders are here!
- Labor Day - Congratulations! Your character awakens to find him/herself at work and unable to leave the position. Better hope that the boss gets you something good for lunch, because you're not going anywhere...

October
- Subtitles: Open Thought - Ever wonder what others were thinking before? What do they really think of your sweater? dress? face? Well, it's just your luck that all everyone's words and actions NOW come with an effective SIMS-bubble subtitle translation.
- Subtitles: Mistranslation - Your lucky character's thoughts are on display in a lovely SIMS-bubble subtitle over his/her head, misrepresented for your inconvenience! What strange secrets, shocking truths, or bizarre rumors will be revealed?
- Virgins Have Unicorns - Unicorns represent purity and beauty, right? Your virgin innocent young man or woman gets to ride in style with his/her very own UNICORN(S). (Unicorn behavior and attitude are player-determined.)
- Wardrobe Malfunction (modified) - Can't find that shirt you like wearing? What about those cargos you like so much? Well, it turns out NONE of your clothes are your own. Your character's wardrobe has ALL transformed into those from another source material (of your choice). (Character will NOT take on personality traits of whatever wardrobe the players select.)

November
- The Tree is Alive with the Sound of Music - Your character can only express him/herself by singing lyrics. (Sorry for the inconvenience, but lyrics are limited to the English language--otherwise, see mod team for details. Similarly, lyrics do not translate themselves into the character journals.)
- Paintball (modified) - Your character wakes up to find him/herself decked out to rough and tough it in paintball. Maybe you can't find your opponents, but... that doesn't mean you can't fire at your friends and enemies!
- Capture the Flag (modified) - Well, what do you know? Your character has a flag in his/her house. There's a note attached: "Guard with your life, and steal other flags for a bonus..." Is this something that you want to pass up?

December
- Evil Twins - Ever blame something on that evil twin you never had? Well, double the action, double the fun! Your character's evil twin (are they really evil now? or just an inverse of his/her personality?) arrives, perhaps pretending to be the original him/herself, and is now wreaking havoc and chaos around the 'sphere with his/her fully developed and unleashed abilities!
- Playhouse Homes - Congratulations, your character's house is now a playhouse of your choice. Feel free to sweep through google images and find your dream outdoor playhouse.

2009

January
- None

Feburary
- Lego Madness (modified)-Your house has turned into Legos! If you needed to do some remodeling, here's the perfect chance! NOTE: All dismantled/modified/rebuilt structures during the event will be returned to their normal state once the event finishes.
- Duck Hunt-With a polyphonic quacking noise, ducks can be seen flapping through the sky, back and forth. When shot, they drop coins- but aim quickly! The ducks have a tendency to fly away shortly after being spotted, and leave the shooter with only a strange chuckling noise from somewhere...

March
- Continuous Cotton Candy-The tree is budding and growing; along with its leaves, it's sprouting a sweet and festive treat! Cotton candy! Mass produced from the tree and into people's houses!
- Body Swap- Characters wake and look in the mirror to find they've completely become a new person! And it doesn't seem to be anyone in Edensphere... (Players may opt-in; body switch is restricted to canonmates who are currently NOT in Edensphere.)

April
- Joke's On You- Randomly, whoopee cushions appear under characters' butts just as they're about to take a seat. How are they getting there, and how can they stop the raspberry before it comes out?
- Edensphere 8-bit Theater Audition- Character wardrobes have been transformed into the respective Fighter, Thief, Black Mage, White Mage, and Red Mage outfits from the original Final Fantasy.
- Menu Madness- Whoa, what's with this menu? Every time characters encounter each other and/or random objects throughout the 'sphere, a menu appears! Selections include Attack, Talk, Lick, and Item; characters are restricted to select actions only from this menu. DX
- Chocobo Fever- Characters are randomly finding themselves taken over by the Final Fantasy Chocobo Theme; it's getting stuck in their heads, even if they don't know where it's from! Sometimes they've just gotta let it out, but why at the most inconvenient/inopportune times ever?

May
- PJ Pillow Fights- You wake up in pajamas and your weapon has become a rather large fat pillow. You know pillows like this are perfect for a pillow fight! So hop to it and join the fun! Let the feathers fly.
- Pox Outbreak- You remember when you were little and you got those bumps right? Those itchy bumps that they had to smear that foul smelling cream on? Guess what~ You got them again. Try not to scratch too much.

June
- Treasure Hunt (redux)- Characters will find extra maps tucked into their journals, but who and where are they from? Can they be trusted? (Please see a mod for map and prize)

July
- Wake up With the King- ARGH! There's a strange MAN in a crown lying next to you in bed! When you sit up in horror, he offers you a...burger?
- Knights and Maidens- Women wake up dressed like princesses or maidens, and men dressed as knights or lords. However, due to a typo in the memo, some men may find themselves princesses while some women are knights! Oh dear.

August
- Theme Music- Everyone gets their own theme song! Music seems to be following people everywhere these days, each song unique to the resident and popping up at (in)appropriate times. Theme songs can be instrumental or with lyrics.
- Movie Effects- Residents will wake up and suddenly find themselves capable of the impossible! Whether it's flying through a window in slow motion a la the Matrix, performing a John Woo style effect or being chased by random explosions, residents will be acting out the movies for the next several days.
- Paparazzi Attack- Characters are accosted by mannequins screaming for their' autographs and photographs!

September
- School Uniform- Your character wakes up dressed in a school uniform. Style is player's choice.
- Purple Prose- Residents find -whether they like it or not- that they cannot write journal entries in anything other than the most flowery, over-descriptive language possible.
- Rapid Desks (modified)- It is the great School Desk uprising! Rebellious school desks roam the Sphere, galloping around on the legs like horses and charging with full force! The only way to defeat these cruel instruments of learning is to FLIP them.

October
- Mistletoe (modified)- An affected character will wake up to discover that there is mistletoe growing atop their head! Ack! They will feel compelled to draw closer and closer to people until they either kiss or embrace in a hug. They won't be able to part ways till its over.
- Lovebirds (modified)- The sound of sweet tweeting announces the arrival of the love birds. These fine feathered friends will flock around a person and will seeks out that person's friends, siblings, lovers or close friends. D'awwww.

November
- You Can Call Me Nannerpus- Pancakes randomly appear in front of your character. However nothing appears in Edensphere for free: Nannerpuss doesn't want your money, he just expects to listen to the entirety of his song while he clings to your head, and then you can claim your pancakes, in which case, he'll disappear.
- Familiars- Characters will wake up to find that they have been given animal familiars or spirit guides. Only these aren't your normal spirit guides--these animals have the personality and voice of a canonmate that is not currently in Edensphere! The animals and personality are player's choice.

December
- Musical Chairs- Every time a character sits down their chair will possess the ability to move while singing merry tunes to its rider! The singing and movement will only stop if the person gets off--or if they smash the chair to bits!
- Virgins Get Unicorns Redux- Virginal or sexually inexperienced characters will wake up and discover a lovely unicorn following them everywhere. However, this mythical creature of purity seems to have a less than positive reaction to non-virgins.
- Everyone Has a Flavor- "Lick Me". That's what will appear on large signs stuck to residents during this event. Your character now has a flavor, such as vanilla or berry or coffee. Flavor is player choice.
- Quarantine (modified)- Whenever a character sneezes or coughs a large bubble will form around them for an hour.

As usual, questions and comments are all welcome, so feel free to drop us some comments here, too, if you need any clarifications.
