Well. Guess what, everybody~?
The first couple of scout fire-ants will start showing up tonight and tomorrow. Only one or two every couple hours will show up, but as the week goes on, more and more will start rearing their hungry heads. Anyone still up the in tree is welcome to see them. The smaller ones are approximately five feet tall and twelve feet in length, and since these are scouts, they'll be less violent and more likely to attempt to retreat (y'know, and report back to the army, good lil' ant scouts).
Also. Anyone still up in the tree is welcome to get eaten. 8D
Whether or not a character who dies loses all the memories they've made up until now is your choice, but I bet most people would opt not to forget what little they've already learned. For those who are wondering what will happen if you die, your character can be reborn into the cocoons they'd just relocated to the wilderness, which would naturally cause much fun confusion as to the nature of the cocoons. Nonetheless! I leave that choice up to you. 8D
For those staying up in the tree, running away from the ants is always possible. Unless they feel you with their feelers, you're good. Though, they can also pick up scents pretty well, so try not to bleed to much. 8D They're mostly armored all over except on their joints, and if you manage to use a funnel effect to avoid being swarmed, you've a better chance at surviving. Just remember that when they do begin to invade, they'll be practically everywhere.
If you get bitten, here's the wonderful list of side effects:
- Severe stinging and swelling.
- Swollen bumps with white pustules risking infections.
- Possible allergic reactions -- severe reactions may constrict breathing.
In Cancer?'s case last year, he'd either been bitten on the neck and his neck broke off, or he'd been bitten on the face and his face swelled to the point of no recognition. I'll leave it up to you to interpret having one's face bitten off. 8D
Any questions can be asked here! (This post may be edited several times as necessary, and ten.'s working on fire-ant diagrams as we speak. 8D)
