This would be a little different, though. They knew all the people invited to that get together and these new folks were unknown variables. They seemed well-meaning enough; surprisingly open and guileless, but merely words on paper so far. They'd see how much of that would hold in person soon enough.
Turning to Stellaris he gave her a wink that hid direction his thoughts were turning. "Looks like all that's missing are the guests."

But, he reasoned, he should also try to gather as much information as he could. He couldn’t simply sit around and be useless. And of course there was Nobel. She wasn’t nearly cautious enough. He couldn’t let them take advantage of her, he had to protect her.
With this thought firmly in mind, he finally knocked on the door. “Hello? This is Newtype.”

And then there was that guy. The one with the red cape and the headband, and the woman with the pink dress and gold earrings. She wanted to know who they were most of all, and she was sure that they were both wrapped up in this Gundam business.
In fact, it might even be possible that Lyle and Stellaris were them! But even if they weren’t, this tea thing sounded like a great idea. When she spotted Newtype at the door already, she grinned and gave him a huge wave, jogging up. “Heeeeey! Looks like ya beat me here!”

It would seem the guests had arrived before him, too. He approached them calmly, giving each a small nod of acknowledgement. "Hello."
"Hello! Hello!" Haro echoed cheerfully.

She was not expecting to see all three invitees at once, and the surprise flashed for a short moment before greeting the guests with a big smile.
"Welcome! Please come in, all of you. If you are Newtype," she nodded to the boy, "that makes you Nobel Gundam, aren't you Miss?"
Both look like teenagers, she thought, and remembered the pleading young girl's voice. Neither of the newcomers' voices had been in the ship's comm line, but that did not rule out them being from the same world.
