As Stellaris was busy setting the table, Lyle hauled their fifth chair out of the work room to set it down at the table. They hadn't had a group this big since... well, the last Gundam pow-wow, plus 00.

This would be a little different, though. They knew all the people invited to that get together and these new folks were unknown variables. They seemed well-meaning enough; surprisingly open and guileless, but merely words on paper so far. They'd see how much of that would hold in person soon enough.

Turning to Stellaris he gave her a wink that hid direction his thoughts were turning. "Looks like all that's missing are the guests."

Naturally enough, that was the first guest’s cue. Eager though he had been at first, Newtype ended up hesitating quite a bit before arriving at the address given, and even before knocking on the door. The idea that he may be a prisoner of war, that his mind was being tampered with somehow for its secrets, never left its hold on him. Terrible as that idea was, it was still better than having no explanation at all - and if that was really the case, then he couldn’t be too careful. The ones in his dream, the tall man in sunglasses, the girl - he didn’t know their names or who they were, but he knew that he would rather die than betray them.

But, he reasoned, he should also try to gather as much information as he could. He couldn’t simply sit around and be useless. And of course there was Nobel. She wasn’t nearly cautious enough. He couldn’t let them take advantage of her, he had to protect her.

With this thought firmly in mind, he finally knocked on the door. “Hello? This is Newtype.”

Nobel had been pondering a lot of things. Her amnesia, why she was here, what a Gundam even was and why was it so important? Not to mention who had done this to, well, everyone. She’d been told that she ought to keep a hold on her dream, but there were some bits of it she wasn’t sure she wanted to know about... that awful berserk feeling where everything in the world had been red. It made her hate the amnesia even more--whoever was responsible was going to have a broken nose when she found them.

And then there was that guy. The one with the red cape and the headband, and the woman with the pink dress and gold earrings. She wanted to know who they were most of all, and she was sure that they were both wrapped up in this Gundam business.

In fact, it might even be possible that Lyle and Stellaris were them! But even if they weren’t, this tea thing sounded like a great idea. When she spotted Newtype at the door already, she grinned and gave him a huge wave, jogging up. “Heeeeey! Looks like ya beat me here!”

Veda, frustratingly, was running late. He'd learned enough of social interaction to realize some sort of gift for the hosts would be appropriate at a moment like this, and as he could neither cook nor wished to encourage mid-afternoon drinking - or any drinking at all, really - he'd wound up stuck in a line at the Bakery instead. Only a small delay, but he hadn't factored it in, so when he finally got back up towards Stellaris and Lyle's apartment - and he'd grace the former any time, but he wasn't so sure about the latter, still - with strawberry tarts and orange Haro in tow, he was not in the best of moods.

It would seem the guests had arrived before him, too. He approached them calmly, giving each a small nod of acknowledgement. "Hello."

"Hello! Hello!" Haro echoed cheerfully.

The knock on the door came right after Lyle's remark, as if on cue. Stellaris chuckled and went to the door while cheerfully commenting, "One thing they appear to have is good timing."

She was not expecting to see all three invitees at once, and the surprise flashed for a short moment before greeting the guests with a big smile.

"Welcome! Please come in, all of you. If you are Newtype," she nodded to the boy, "that makes you Nobel Gundam, aren't you Miss?"

Both look like teenagers, she thought, and remembered the pleading young girl's voice. Neither of the newcomers' voices had been in the ship's comm line, but that did not rule out them being from the same world.
