The liquid dripping in and out of her orifices disgusted her and she tried pressing forward, but somehow the effort wasn't doing it. She had to stretch and strain with her head and feet before at last the cocoon burst from around her and she toppled onto her chest on the cold floor.
Barely cognizant, she felt around on the floor, only to find it oddly problematic. Her whole left arm was numb, it felt like; she couldn't feel anything with her left hand. She blinked through wet bangs up at the other person nearby, for the moment unconcerned it was a man. She'd lost all memory of Edensphere; all she had to go on, same as him, was the dream she'd just had.
"Are you... the one who spoke to me, in my dream?"

He stared at the grotesque half of the man's face. He wondered for a moment if this was a product of the cocoons, some deformity during "development"...
But with a loud clearing of his throat, he straightened again and adjusted the position of his glasses.
"Welcome to Edensphere, and happy birthday to you both. Do take a moment to wipe off the slime and come with me: I've tea and answers prepared, should you have the questions to ask." With a flash of an unsettling grin, he turned and navigated out of the dwindling cocoons back to his table, setting up two additional cups and saucers.
A beauty and a half-beast... how fascinating!

She awkwardly held the towel under her stump and wrapped it around her body, then rose. A serious expression on her face, she addressed the man waiting with tea.
"Please explain the situation from the beginning, sir - how did we arrive in this place? Was there a price for passage?" She reached up to touch her left shoulder with her right arm, gripping it tightly.

"We arrive here by way of the cocoons from which the two of you have just emerged. The price of passage is one's identity. Whoever brought you here may have decided that things are too dangerous, too hectic at home... ergo, here you are before me today in paradise. ...Sugar?" The last bit was asked at a chuckle, and with a sweep of a finger, two empty chairs pulled themselves out for them.
"...Needless to say, neither of you know who you even are. As that is the case, it is one of my many duties that I suggest you craft names for yourselves. Think of it as a placeholder for the time being." He lifted his own cup and drank.
"For example, I was once called Gungnir, a word I had plucked from my birth dream. I have since discarded it for the truth, something that a fair number of us have accomplished."

Namely that their host was correct - she remembered nothing save that strange dream. "I would rather not name myself based on something so very personal, if it's all the same to you, He Who Was Once Gungnir." It would make her easier to trace, she thought immediately, and she was already vulnerable, having only the one arm.
She took in all of her surroundings - what it looked like, what information she was being given - and was mentally arranging it all in her mind. She didn't expect either of these mystery men to provide her with answers - but she did expect to draw her own conclusions with enough hints.
