[Rain wasn't overly surprised that Souji had stopped by to talk. Okita, rather - Rain had caught his exchange with Cooro in the journals, and that name seemed to fit the other man better in his mind. But they often ended up discussing things after one of them had recovered a memory that was relevant to the other, and from the look of it, everyone had spontaneously remembered something yesterday. So when Rain opened the door of his room to find Okita there, he simply nodded.]

Okita [there was the briefest of pauses - that still wasn't quite right] -san. [Yes. That was better.] Come in. [Rain crossed the room to fetch the seating cushions.

He was grateful that Okita hadn't come by yesterday - he'd been, admittedly, left emotionally raw and reeling by his own memory, and had needed some time to himself to sort his thoughts out. The initial impact had numbed now, though, and he was able to function as normal.]

[A stab of pain at the back of his neck... there was no way to know for sure what it had been, but if Rain had been holding Okita back at the time, it wasn't at all far-fetched to speculate that it had been his doing. The idea of apologizing momentarily flitted across his mind, but it was very quickly discarded. He couldn't truly be sorry for something he didn't remember, and if Okita's desire to keep fighting had been unreasonable, he doubted he'd been sorry at the time, either.]

I see. [Rain paused.] So that's all?

[coughcoughshank]

[Souji nods]

More or less. You called me 'Okita-san' in the memory, so... I wasn't surprised you preferred that here, too. But that was all.

[notpissedoff]

[Rain returned the nod.] Thank you for telling me.

[Yet another bit of information that left them with more questions than answers. Why he'd been dressed as a healer, who they'd been fighting and why... and for that matter, had they won? More things to write down in a notebook and puzzle over. But even if Okita's memory hadn't provided much in the way of specific details about their life back home, it had at least provided Rain with some insight on Okita's nature.]

[Souji shrugs a little, and smiles slightly]
