Last night had been unremarkable, and now, Paladin simply walked to the elevator, talking with Reed. It had been a while since either of them had visited the bookstore, and as Reed was interested in perhaps finding more books by one "Shakespeare"...why not?
There was something familiar about the cloaked man by the elevator...but Paladin couldn't quite place it, and decided not to fret much on it while waiting for the car to come.

For now, anyway. The tea helped keep anything else at bay. And when the tea stopped helping, the coffee helped instead. He made a note to pick up a cup while they were in the marketplace.
The rain was invigorating enough, in spite of the cold, and he nodded a hello to the cloaked figure by the elevator as he stepped into waiting beside he and Paladin. ...And gave more than a cursory glance towards the face beneath the hood.
Not who he was expecting... though Reed wasn't sure who he was expecting. How odd. He returned to idly waiting.

The rain had him wandering up to the first floor last night, where the branches of the Tree provided slightly more shelter than they did on the islands. Still, as he made his way back to the Spa in the morning to catch a bit of sleep before he had to start work, Rain was wetter and colder than he would have preferred. A hot shower and a nap were definitely in order.
The elevator arrived just as he reached it, the doors sliding open with a ding, and he spared barely a glance at the others who had been waiting as he stepped in.

One of them made eye contact for a few seconds. Ben returned it calmly, feeling something questioning that had been rising fade again.
When the elevator came, he stationed himself against one wall and let his hood down. The floor was wet, he noticed, but not all that muddy. It must have been cleaned recently.

Other than that, though, he had nothing to do but settle against the wall and continue the conversation with poor, insomniac Reed. He'd noted how Ben (as he could see properly with his hood down) seemed to strike him oddly, but only filed the information away. Even if it was worth remarking on, it wasn't worth remarking on here.
